Anatomy of a "Burn-Off"

One of the major moves in fire-spinning is the "Burn-off". The staff is usually held horizontal, spun about its axis while being thrown into the air. The centrifugal force created by the angular inertia causes the fuel to exit the surface of the wick in the form of fine mists. The release fuel particles are ignited by the burning wicks to form flame balls which adopts the shape of mushroom clouds as heated air raises through convention.

Ironically, this move actually reduces the danger level of the burning staff as excess fuel is spun off, effectively reducing the risk of secondary burns caused by fuel residues from drips.
